system leading to tomorrow’s business existence: Integrated Enterprise
Excellence (IEE) System In today’s business world, there is an imperative need for having timely information and making timely decisions to increase your sales pipeline, customer base, and overall company profitability. With such a high demand on business professionals, companies across the globe charge ahead with the release of new product lines and upgrades to improve the bottom line. In addition, sometimes product discontinuations are mandated in hopes of cutting cost. Whatever the reason, profitability initiatives are created and numbers are reported as weekly metrics on a macro level (i.e. turn over of inventory turn, profit margin $ and %, market share, and headcount – just to name a few). Based on the reported metrics, decisions are made by certain executives without an afterthought to the validity of the metrics and how the metrics were truly obtained. In all honesty, some of today’s business professionals operate and measure on the hope and assumption policies to the company turning more profit. Think about it, can you or your colleagues say with great confidence your company can fully understand, comprehend, and prove with statistical validity that processes are stable and metrics are accurate? Understanding how your business operates and how the enterprise-level metrics are derived leads to the overall success of whether your business metrics are truly as accurate as proclaimed. This is where the business management system of tomorrow, Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) System, will serve to increase your company’s measurement and improvement processes as well as its overall existence, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) System serves as an integral part of business operations and measurements of a company. No matter what a company’s size, IEE specifically focuses on process improvements and re-engineering projects that are aligned to the company’s business needs; and not just to the bullish executives who yell the loudest for project approval. The need for having timely information and making timely decisions goes further than just implementing projects or programs that stall out or can’t effectively be measured in financial and operational aspects. Even if depicted measurements are achieved, do they drive the correct behavior and activities on an enterprise level? It’s about implementing an enterprise-level system based upon consistently identifying your people, process, and metrics, and consistently performing the correct actions at the right time. This system is allowing your organization to capture and measure the correct data, and allows your business professionals to make educated, data-driven decisions from what the business is suggesting in action. How the business operates and how your company chooses to respond or proactively handle the common or special cause changes will ultimately determine the short-term health and long-term existence of your company. In summary, its plain

In The News In last month’s edition, The University of Texas Center for Performance Excellence (UTCPE) welcomed Smarter Solutions, Inc. to the 2005 UTCPE awards banquet on November 7, 2005 at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in Austin, Texas. The event was a very informative and successful event for the companies in attendance. In lieu of the event, Smarter Solutions is practicing what it preaches by electing to submit itself to undergo a complete business process evaluation following the UTCPE guidelines. A non-profit organization, UTCPE will employ criteria from the National Malcolm Baldrige Award to guide Smarter Solutions toward achieving excellence in all it does. Simply put, Smarter Solutions seeks to become the best in class at what it does for the maximum benefit for all involved. Doing so calls for Smarter Solutions to take a critical look at every one of its business processes. Only then can it discover how it can attain the improvements needed to take it to the next level. That’s exactly what Smarter Solutions is doing, and that’s why Smarter Solutions is practicing what it preaches!
