Has can Businesses Excel in the Downturn?
In business, Jim Collins describes the importance of the hedgehog concept and the three circles. In down times it is even more important to assess business from the three circles point of

  1. What you can be the best in the world at (and, equally important, what you cannot be the best in the world at).
  2. What drives your economic engine.
  3. What you are deeply passionate about.

If your business has a good intersection of the three circles then the business needs to determine what it should do to “go for it;” however, this effort needs to be done smartly. This can be done by wisely, blending innovation with analytics.

Customer Satisfaction and KPI Improvements
Question: How are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) impacted by the Integrated Enterprise Excellence system methodology? Consider a customer satisfaction KPI and you are measuring process outputs such as deviation from shipping date demanded by the customer, how is the impact determined for customer satisfaction?

Response: Wikipedia defines KPI as being financial and non-financial metrics that are to help an organization with defining and measuring progress toward organizational goals. KPIs, as stated in Wikipedia, are typically tied to an organization’s strategy; e.g., through techniques such as the Balanced Scorecard.

Non-normal Data Needs Alternate Control Chart Approach
